At the beginning of December, I got pretty excited when we saw the first photo of Ashton Kutcher in the role of late Apple founder Steve Jobs, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2011, for the upcoming biopic “JOBS.” Kutcher absolutely looked the part, but I wondered if he could play the part just as well.
Well, things look pretty promising with this first JOBS clip to hit the Internet. It’s only a short minute-long scene but Kutcher seems to have a very strong handle on the role and I’m excited to see more of the film, which is currently being screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
JOBS will examine the major moments and defining characters that influenced Steve Jobs from 1971-2001 and helped make him one of the greatest and most powerful entrepreneurs of all-time as he built his Apple empire. According to Coming Soon, the film “plunges into the depths of his character, creating an intense dialogue-driven story that is as much a sweeping epic as it is an immensely personal portrait” of Jobs’ life.
The film will hit United States theaters on April 19 of this year.
