Sources have told Captain Thunder Racing.com that rock & roll superstar Lenny Kravitz will headline the opening of the 2012 Daytona 500.
Kravitz, a South Florida regular, will play a live show before the start of the 54th Annual Daytona 500.
The 47-year old singer/songwriter is best known for his wide range of genres and melodic vocals. Kravitz has performed soul, R&B, funk, reggae, hard rock, psychedelic, folk and ballads.
Kravitz also holds the record for most consecutive Grammy wins in a row by a male artist. From 1999-2002 Kravitz won the Grammy Award for ""Best Male Rock Vocal Performance". The four year winning streak broke the record for most wins in the category, and most consecutive wins in one category for a male.
But, let's hope Kravitz has some gas left in the tank for NASCAR Nation come February 26th - he's playing the Fillmore At The Jackie Gleason Theater in South Beach the night before. - Captain Thunder - www.CaptainThunderRacing.com
