Lil Wayne is in critical condition at the ICU at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering multiple seizures, TMZ reports, though there is conflicting information about the rapper’s condition. TMZ says Lil Wayne was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after suffering seizures. He was released Wednesday, but TMZ says a bodyguard found the rapper unconscious on the floor in his room. He was taken back to Cedars-Sinai and placed in ICU because he was shaking uncontrollably and unable to stabilize, TMZ reports. Lil Wayne, who reportedly has a history of seizures, was in Los Angeles to shoot a music video. Doctors reportedly believe he went on a “sizzurp” binge, because high amounts of codeine were found in his system. Sizzurp is a drink that includes soda, promethazine with codeine syrup, and Jolly Ranchers for flavor. TMZ is describing Lil Wayne’s condition as more grave, while some of Weezy’s friends and associates are much more positive. Lil Wayne’s publicist reportedly confirmed that the rapper suffered a seizure and says he is recovering. Here’s what fellow rappers Mack Maine and Birdman tweeted: Wayne is alive and well! We watching the Syracuse game…thanks for the prayers and concern..he will update you all soon. #love — Mack Maine (@mackmaine) March 16, 2013 We will be releasing an official statement shortly but dont believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe…that’s false!! — Mack Maine (@mackmaine) March 16, 2013 My son is in good spirit..feelin much betta…be home soon.YMCMB — BIRDMAN (@BIRDMAN5STAR) March 16, 2013 Even Lil Wayne eventually tweeted to allay all concerns about his health: I’m good everybody.
