Tweet Thursday during the controversial trial involving George Zimmerman and the killed Trayvon Martin, US track star Lolo Jones decided to weigh in on the testimony of Rachel Jeantel, a friend of Martin’s that was serving as a witness in the case. Here’s a screenshot of Jones’ attempt at humor:   Given the sensitive nature [...]

  • She's right. That is one nasty looking 19 year old. She looks like she is 49. Drugs are bad kids...they age you horribly. And what 19 year old is still in high school? Oh...one that can't read cursive writing!
  • Yep. True.
  • wow America is getting more progressive. It used to be only straight white males that couldn't joke about any others
  • Seems like Lolo is still hurting from the 2008 olympics.
  • who really cares what lolo says?everyone can voice their opinion voice yours and go on with life.no need to get upset or angry.if people perceive us a certain way we should either own it or change if we don't like it.stop blaming others.
  • lolo doesn't deny her black ancestry...people who pass claim they are white, she doesn't do that, she just makes ignorant insensitive comments
  • Montanan....Lolo is mixed...her dad is black...look at early pictures of her and her siblings...she's passing
  • yeah thats my point
  • Lolo needs to put her brain in gear b4 putting her mouth in motion!!!
  • I wish she would tweet pics of her snatch instead of comments. It was funny, though.
  • Lolo is biracial. Her father is black so it's not like a white woman is making racist comments.
  • Why is that if someone makes a remark about anyone who is not white, it becomes a "racial remark" Her remark was correct. This girl is 19 years old and can't read cursive writing, she may not be able to print, or she would have written the note herself. Question, how did she know what she had sent to the family? Go Lolo
  • I agree. We need to stop looking at color and treat everyone as equal. Either we began to work together down here or forget about trying to go to heaven. How hard is it to respect the next person. So, what she can't read, write or speak correctly, there is fault in everyone of us. You just haven't been exposed. Being made fun of is not a good feeling when the tables are turned.
  • yeah!
  • Oh my goodness people....It was a freaking joke. It wasn't even that funny. Put your big girl panties on or grow a pair whichever the case may be and stfu. Stop this whining. No wonder other countries are beginning to look at the US as a weak nation. The TOTAL PUSSIFICATION of America.
  • I think the country is more progressive than that; now it's not good for anybody to make crass and hurtful jokes about anyone at any time. When did this country ever stop being hurtful and divisive??? Never!!! I think its time to change. The whole world hates us because of our "better than you" attitude that we keep going with hurtful comments and actions to the world and ourselves. Life is short and does not have to be this ugly.
  • I seriously doubt the whole world hates us.
  • Mouth without a brain is an Ass full of pain. I hope she finds a man of color to stuff her virgin blow holes..
  • The joke WAS funny. Sadly, its because Jeantel she has a low IQ or is herself a racist. Then again- I'm just - her words-a "cracker".
  • You are aware that she is a woman "of color", correct?
  • blow it out your ass she has the right to say what she wants the color do
  • I've got to believe that there are better things to concern ourselves with than what an athlete (or anyone, for that matter) says about anything. We have reached an obnoxious level of sensitivity in this country.
  • Now, I am afraid to think. Someone might not like my thoughts.
  • Lolo ought to worry more about her miserable performance in the finals of the hurdles at the U.S. Championships last weekend than about whether or not an illiterate woman can testify well. She couldn't even stay in her own lane, repeatedly stepping on the line to her right and in fact over the line more than once and she should have been disqualified.
  • Who is she again?
  • In what way did her tweet reference race at all? Because she linked the witness (who also played a housekeepr in the movie Tower Heist) and Medea? What people don't realize is that when they inject racism where it simply doesn't exist... THEY are the closet racists. "There's watermellon in the break room if you want any".... "You F***ING racist!!!!"
  • So what makes Lolo's comments such a big deal? The Zimmerman trial is a riot as the world listens to this so-called adult woman up there making a fool and mockery of her race. SHE is the one who needs to hire a PR person to help her. I would think everyone in the black community would be outraged at her for her obvious display of attitude, idiocy and every other negative adjective that could be used to describe her. She is not helping the prosecution in any way. I am sure Lolo is not the only one who has noticed this.

Oh, wait. I see how this works. Even though it is not pertinent in any way to her comments, it was important for the "Los That Sports Blog" to throw in that Lolo is "saving herself" for marriage. Maybe if she were a tramp and got knocked up, more people would respect that?? Give me a break. Instead, we are expected to coddle idiots like Rachel Jeantel. It's ridiculous.
  • Nothing funny about the fight for justice or for your life in prison. Maybe if more terrible things happen to people, there would be more sympathy, awareness, and just plain common sense.
  • LoLo and Solo what a combination!!
  • Lolo Jones is a beautiful black women that should be able say what ever she wants to say without ridicule and scunity of an obvious joke. She has had so much trail an tribulation with her track career that a humerous statement should be allowed. She is a role model to so many african american young women. Her opinionated attributes are needed. Thx Lolo
  • Oh brother. So, she has an opinion? She has a right to it. Get over it!
  • When it's not Lolo its Solo....
  • So, male rappers and Samuel L. Jackson can use the N-word all day and it is OK with the majority of folks, but it's not OK for black female to make a joke about a person that has most of America shaking their heads in wonder at?

Also, what precisely is racist about the comment that Jones made?
  • This woman seeks out controversy. But, if she wants to keep quiet, I'd still like to nail her.
  • Perhaps that is why her name is Lolo...which means crazy in Hawaiian!
  • I think it shows a good sense of humor. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what she said. Thats the problem with this country, everybody always has to be so damned sensitive!
  • Good for you Ms. Jones! It's great to hear a little humor. Today, it seems that too many people can't understand levity.
  • I had the privilege to watch my younger sister race the 110 meter high hurdles against Lolo...she was a senior and my sister was a freshman. My sister finished 4th, and of course, Lolo won. Our family was so PROUD for my sister's accomplishment...now, I'm just wondering how Iowa feels about their "golden girl"? My sister went on to become a RN in a pediatric unit...and Lolo can't seem to do anything but Run...her mouth! How proud is her family?
  • See these are the type of decisions you make when your life is missing that big little word that starts with an "S" and rhymes with "Tex"....ha-ha!!!!
  • She speaks that way because English isn't her first language. I expect the whites to mess over us and diss her and the whole trial but I thought blacks would be better than that but I guess not. I bet the people dragging for this girl love them some Paula Deen.

NBA execs: Jason Kidd not playing Jabari Parker enough

Milwaukee Bucks first year coach Jason Kidd has the Bucks off to an 11-10 start after 21 games – which nearly is the win total of the entire 2013-2014 NBA season, where Milwaukee won a combined 15 contests. However, the reversal of fortunes early on for the Bucks doesn’t matter to league scouts and executives who believe coach Kidd is hurting the development of Jabari Parker...

Adrian Peterson: I’m just now entering the prime of my career

NFL running backs—especially those that are focal points for their respective teams—endure a great deal of physical contact during the course of their careers. They tend to have shorter shelf lives than other players—and must battle wear and tear—with their production beginning to decline in their late 20s, if not before. But don’t tell that to Minnesota Vikings running...

Ohio State player wearing Kosta Karageorge's No. 53

Ohio State is in the Big Ten Championship Game today, but the program is still feeling the very recent loss of walk-on Kosta Karageorge, who was found dead last weekend. Bennett has traded in his usual...
