The Petal Panthers have been a strong football program over the course of the last few years. After falling in the state title game two years ago, the PHS program has continued to be one of south Mississippi's strongest squads under the direction of head man Marcus Boyles. Boyles took some time out of his schedule to share his thoughts on new Mississippi State commitment Jesse Jackson.
While many expected good news for Mississippi State when Jesse Jackson stepped up to the microphone on Monday morning, his commitment was extremely well received by the Bulldog fan base who had been eagerly awaiting his pledge. The three star wideout chose the Bulldogs over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, Ole Miss and Southern Miss.

Jesse Jackson burst onto the recruiting scene during a breakout junior campaign. During the 2012 season, Jackson hauled in 39 passes for 842 and a team high 11 touchdown receptions. The spring evaluation period brought dozens of college coaches to Petal High School who wanted to learn more about the talented wide out. Most programs offered.
