It took virtually no time for us to get one of the best scores of the college football weekend.

Starting the season at 1-5, Kent State needed to get cheeky in order to get the upper hand on their Week 7 opponent and MAC conference mate, the 3-3 Eastern Michigan Eagles.

Unfortunately for the Golden Flashes, their hosts were ready for the unorthodox.

Kent State attempted an onside kick on the game's opening kickoff in Ypsilanti. Senior defensive back Kendrick Nowling was able to recover the kick attempt and subsequently won a foot race with EMU's coverage unit to the end zone.

Eastern Michigan started the game up 7-0, where the score remains in the first half.

EMU have now returned three kickoffs for touchdowns this season, which leads all of FBS.

This story will be updated following the conclusion of the game
