NORMAN, Okla. — Another day, another Sooner player to watch; the Jim Thorpe Association Friday announced its 35-player Jim Thorpe Award Watch List and OU free safety Tony Jefferson has been included.
The honors keep rolling in for junior cornerback David Amerson, as he was announced on the 2012 Jim Thorpe Award Watch List. Last season, he was one of three finalist for the award which is given annually to the best defensive back in college football.

The Panthers may have one of the best defensive backs in the nation this year, at least that’s what the Jim Thorpe Association thinks. The award that goes to the best defensive back in college football had its preseason watch list released today and Pitt safety Jarred Holley was one of just the 35 names on the list.
Holley had his name mentioned in the Nagurski watch list yesterday...
