All that Navy Seal training Tiger Woods went through is being put to good use.
In a new commercial for PGA Tour 14, Woods and Arnold Palmer find themselves crossed by some thugs who want to steal their trophies (which are cleverly hidden inside their suit jackets). No matter — Woods and Palmer apparently know enough about kicking and punching to take care of these hoodlums.
Things get especially chippy near the end, but a special cameo by Lee Trevino, of all people, restores the world to order.
ORLANDO, Fla. — Tiger Woods is one round away from returning to No. 1 in the world.
Woods made an eagle for the third straight day at Bay Hill on his way to a 6-under 66 to race by Justin Rose and take a two-shot lead in the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Rickie Fowler (67) and John Huh (71) also were two shots behind.
With a victory Sunday, Woods will be No. 1 in the world ranking...
Tiger Woods is back to No. 1 in the world with a game that looks as good as it ever has.
Woods tied a PGA Tour record Monday by winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational for the eighth time. He never let anyone closer than two shots in the final round at Bay Hill, closing with a 2-under-par 70 for a two-shot victory over Justin Rose.
Woods, who takes over the top spot in the World...
Tiger Woods returned to No. 1 in the world by winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational, not surprising except if you consider where he was a little more than a year ago.
Woods had not won a PGA Tour in some 2 1/2 years. He missed most of the summer and two majors in 2011 because of injuries to his left leg and Achilles tendon. He walked off the course at Doral a year ago because of...
With Tiger Woods rained out, NASCAR’s Auto Club 500 was the dominant non-NCAA sporting event of the weekend. Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Auto Club 500 from Fontana (CA) earned a 4.5 overnight rating on FOX [...]
This is easily the most bizarre thing that I have ever seen in a golf tournament. At #10 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Sergio Garcia hit his drive and his ball got stuck in a tree. Rather than take a penalty for an unplayable ball, Garcia climbed up into the tree to try and hit a shot.
When he got up there, he actually hit an incredible shot. To turn your club backwards...
It seems as though getting back to being ranked #1 in the world for the first time since December 2010, having a new girlfriend and putting together three wins to start the year has Tiger Woods feeling better than usual. This text message to Rory McIlroy doesn’t seem like the normal thing Tiger would do, but it does make it seem as though Rory and Tiger are better friends than...

This whole clip of Sergio Garcia hitting a ball out of a tree on the 10th hole during the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational is amazing, but long, so feel free to start watching at the 3:00 mark.
Garcia hit his second shot on the par 4 into a tree where it lodged itself at the intersection of some branches about ten feet into the air.
Instead of taking a one-stroke penalty...

I am not a huge golf fan. I mean, I check in now and then to see how everyone is doing, and I usually know who has won the recent majors, but I am by no means a big time golf nut. But, when I heard about this story, I had to know more.

As LeBron James prepares to head to Brazil to watch the World Cup finale in person, Chris Broussard is reporting that Dan Gilbert’s scathing letter from four-years ago could prevent Akron’s prodigal son from returning home. According to Broussard, Gilbert’s letter is believed to be the reason James has been unable to make a decision about where he wants to play. In the letter...
Since June 13, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw has not allowed a run, until Thursday night. Kershaw went 41 2/3 innings without allowing a run until he gave up a solo home run to Padres third baseman, Chase Headley. Kershaw was able to battle out of the game with only the one run given […]
How was MLB able to get Ryan Braun to agree to a 65-game suspension in 2013 despite the absence of a failed drug test? There was so much evidence against Braun that the Brewers slugger decided to accept his fate. And where did MLB get all the evidence? Not only did they have Anthony Bosch […]
Warrior, a sporting goods company specializing mostly in lacrosse (and hockey) apparel and equipment, came out firing on Thursday night after seeing softball televised on ESPN while lacrosse was on ESPN2. Here is the tweet sent from the official Warrior account: Does anyone else find it laughable that Softball is on ESPN1 & #WorldLax is […]
The Dallas Cowboys have not made the playoffs since 2009, which was also the last time they posted a winning record. Despite having some talented players on their roster, the Cowboys can’t seem to win when it counts. Tony Romo takes most of the blame for that, but Donovan McNabb and Randy Moss see things […]
It's not just NFL higher-ups who believe the sport should be expanded over the pond.
In an interview with BritviewNFL.com's Neil Reynolds, Raiders running back Maurice Jones-Drew opined that London deserves a full-time franchise.
"You know what? I think they deserve one," Jones-Drew said, via NFL.com. "It's just the toll it takes on the body because...
Oh man, this is bad news. Masahiro Tanaka, the New York Yankees’ stellar Japanese hurler was placed on the disabled list yesterday with “elbow inflammation,” but after an MRI the news got much, much worse on Thursday. Tanaka has reportedly been diagnosed with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. That injury almost always leads to Tommy John surgery...
A time will come when Brett Favre has his No. 4 jersey retired by the Green Bay Packers. That time just doesn't appear like it will come in 2014 though.Packers president Mark Murphy talked about the matter recently with ESPNWisconsin.com, and despite continually saying that the franchise plans to retire Favre's jersey, Murphy admitted it was highly unlikely such an occurrence...
SOUTHPORT, England – Paul Azinger said Thursday that a quest by Tiger Woods to make his swing better has backfired on him. Woods has gone through four swing changes with three coaches during his career, each time saying the objective was to get better. In a conference call for ESPN, Azinger said that in his quest to get better, “I think he’s actually gotten a little bit worse...
The Boston Celtics have been one of the more active trades on the free agent and trade market so far this offseason, and they are reportedly still looking to trade Rajon Rondo. According to a report from CelticsBlog, there appears to be a very likely chance that he will end up being traded at some point in the near future. There have been rumors surrounding Rondo about the Sacramento...
