Inbee Park has some catching up to do if she wants to become the first golfer to win four professional majors in one year.
Miki Saiki of Japan twice holed out for eagle on the front nine Friday and took advantage of decent scoring conditions at St. Andrews for a 6-under 66 in the Women's British Open. Saiki was at 9-under 135. She had a one-shot lead over Morgan Pressel, who played bogey-free in increasing wind for a 70.
The early starters had to cope with bursts of rain strong enough to leave puddles on the Old Course.
Park, who opened with a 69, faced tougher scoring conditions. The rain cleared, and the wind was stronger that it has been all week. Park bogeyed her first hole.
