Tiger Woods is in a place he hasn't been in more than two years -- in the lead on the PGA Tour going into the weekend. Woods ran off four straight birdies early in his round Friday and made short work of the par 5s on his way to a 7-under 65, giving him a one-shot lead over Graeme McDowell and Jason Dufner at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. It's the first time since the 2009 Tour Championship that Woods has been the 36-hole leader. He also had the 36-hole lead in the Australian Open four months ago and finished third. Woods is a six-time winner at Bay Hill. He looked closer than ever to winning a tour event -- any tour -- for the first time since November 2009.

Video: Tiger shanks tee shot into yard

Tiger has had some of the most amazing golf shots you and I have ever seen. He has also had his fair share of “what the heck was that” moments. Today at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, it was definitely the latter on the 15th hole Yes, that is someones backyard that the ball ended up in. Though he double-bogeyed the hole and created a huge divot in the process...

Have we had our fill of dirt on Tiger?

A smiling Tiger Woods weaved in between the cameras and moved into a familiar position, behind a microphone in a makeshift interview area near the 18th green at Bay Hill. Woods often betrays apprehension by smiling broadly when facing the media. I remember well how out of place that big, wide grin was when he walked past me in the media room at the 2010 Masters for that fateful...

Wedges a weakness for Woods right now

Tiger Woods wolfed down a peanut butter sandwich and sipped on a can of Diet Coke. Then he went to work on the range at Bay Hill. Wedges, wedges and more wedges. Sean Foley stepped in early and often, changing Woods' body position, reminding him of his arm lines, how he wants the club to exit and making sure there's a slight cup in his lead wrist to shallow the wedges,...

Woods starts strong, fades on back 9

Tiger Woods looks healthy enough. And he looks like he is hitting the shots he wants to -- for the most part. A day after lighting up Lake Nona with partner Justin Rose, Tiger struggled a bit Tuesday, starting fast, but fading on the back nine to fire an even-par 72 at the Tavistock Cup. Playing for Team Albany, Tiger went out in 2-under 34, but seemed to fizzle after a bogey...

For Tiger, better to be lucky than good

Back in the day, Tiger Woods wasn't just the best player in the world, he was also one of the luckiest. Errant shots would have a habit of finding safe harbor, bounces would go his way, putts -- like the famous one on the final hole at the 2008 US Open -- would somehow fall in instead of lipping out like they did for most everyone else. The past two-and-a-half years, not so...

Tiger Woods blames tweaked back on photographer

Tiger Woods shot well in his opening round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Thursday going 3-under (69) to tie him for fourth. His strong opening round was even more impressive when you consider the back pain he endured Wednesday during the Pro-Am. Tiger tweaked his back on the sixth hole and blamed a photographer for the incident. “I guess one of the so-called professional photographers...

Tiger Woods Tied for the Lead After 36 Holes at Bay Hill

It’s easy to get ahead of ourselves on the golf course. You make a few early birdies and you’re thinking about posting your career low score. The nerves settle in. Every swing is a bit tighter than the one before. It never leads to anything good.  So it isn’t any surprise to see us all get that same feeling with the way Tiger Woods has golfed his ball through 36...

Hank Haney will be all over ESPN platforms Monday to pimp book on Tiger Woods

It has been just announced that Hank Haney will be all over ESPN on Monday to tout his tell-all book, The Big Miss: My Years Coaching Tiger Woods, allowing him to continue to tarnish the already-damaged legacy of Tiger Woods in the selfish interest of likely reaping massive financial gains as a reward for his [...]

Tiger takes 1-shot lead at Bay Hill

One swing cost Tiger Woods a comfortable lead Saturday at Bay Hill. He still finished atop the leaderboard, leaving him one round away from winning on the PGA Tour for the first time in 30 months. Woods, who led by as many as four shots on the back nine, hooked a tee shot out-of-bounds on the 15th hole for double bogey. He wound up with a 1-under 71 for a one-shot lead over Graeme...

Video: Tiger Will Be Back for the Masters

With the start of The Masters only two weeks away and Tiger Woods having to bow out of his last PGA Tour tournament due to injury, questions arose in the media if Tiger was going to be ready for the first Major of the year. Woods decided to squash those rumors by taking to the media himself as he visited The Scott Van Pelt Show on ESPN Radio and sat down with Tom Rinaldi at ESPN...

Tiger holds lead at Bay Hill after 2 rounds

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Tiger Woods is in a place he hasn't been in more than two years -- in the lead on the PGA Tour going into the weekend. Woods ran off four straight birdies early in his round Friday and made short work of the par 5s on his way to a 7-under 65, giving him a one-shot lead over Graeme McDowell and Jason Dufner at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Hank Haney ripped for Tiger book

Phil Mickelson's former coach, Rick Smith, says that Hank Haney's tell-all Tiger book violates golf's player-teacher confidentiality.
