Owen Groesser is an eighth grader at Van Hoosen Junior High School in Michigan. Van Hoosen played its final basketball game of the year yesterday and Owen had not played a single minute. Late in the contest, here was Groesser checking in for the first time. (You see where this is going?) Owen received a pass, readied himself for the set shot, and let it fly. For three.

According to ESPN, Owen hit another tre' a minute or so later leaving him with 6 points in roughly two minutes of play. Go Owen. Go.

Kevin Garnett calls this season the most frustrating of his career

I wonder if in hindsight, Kevin Garnett would rather be running on the beach, or just chilling sipping lemonade outside his mansion in Malibu. The 19 year veteran of the NBA seems lost on a talented, but underachieving Brooklyn Nets team that was supposed to contend for a championship. Garnett has had a decline in every major category since last season, and finally on Wednesday,...

Green Bay Packers in danger of not selling out playoff game

Have we reached a tipping point regarding NFL tickets, even in Green Bay? As of late Wednesday, 7,500 tickets remain for Sunday’s 49ers-Packers wild card playoff game at Lambeau Field. The fact that the Packers are having trouble selling tickets is eye-opening even with extenuating circumstances. By late Sunday it is expected to be very cold, even by “January in Wisconsin”...

USC DB trash talks Michigan State, ends up looking foolish

The Big Ten’s perception, already in question after a lackluster year, is taking a huge hit during the 2013-2014 bowl season. Players around the country are starting to notice too – check out what USC...

Report: Bill O'Brien was frustrated with Penn State politics

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that former Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien had become frustrated at his job. O’Brien, who was hired Tuesday by the Houston Texans as their new head coach, signed on to coach at Penn State in 2012 after the football team was rocked by a child sex abuse scandal. On top of dealing with sanctions from the NCAA as fallout from the scandal, O...

Steve Spurrier jabs Clemson after winning Capital One Bowl

Nobody rocks the mic quite like Steve Spurrier. And very few are as good at trash talking. After winning the Capital One Bowl for the second time, Spurrier grabbed the microphone in the postgame ceremony and said a few words. Spurrier thanked the South Carolina fans who made the trip to Orlando, and then he […]

O'Leary on Bortles' girlfriend: She deserves 6 million Googles

@liindseyduke is a social media star. Star quarterbacks and model girlfriends are nothing new to college football — everyone knows that QBs get all of the attention and the girls. One of the most popular girlfriends in college football this year is Lindsey Duke, the squeeze of Central Florida’s Blake Bortles. Duke first burst on to the scene in August when she did a cover shoot...
