Michael McComish is a lucky young man. The senior wrestler for Madison High School in South Dakota, was competing in a match against local rival Chamberlain on Friday night at his school in the annual 'Madison Square Garden' tournament (no connection to the arena) when a huge light fell from the rafters directly on top of him (about one minute into the video above).
McComish later tweeted "Just letting everyone know I'm fine! Stitches in my head. Gash on forehead and back of me head and little cuts from the glass nothin serious" along with this picture:
Not only did McComish emerge relatively unscated, he didn't even miss a day of school, according to athletic director Bud Postma. "The unfortunate accident that occurred on Friday was indeed a scary moment for everyone involved," Postma said. "We are thankful to report that the student/athlete injured is recovering and is in school."
