Yet, there are still several key issues and components which they need to improve on and stay consistent with, to revert back to their winning ways of 2010 and hopefully excel in the playoffs. The success of the 2012 Cincinnati Reds hinges upon these 10 important questions regarding the upcoming season. 1. Will the Reds offseason trade for Mat Latos give them the 1-2 punch they have been lacking in recent years? There were definitely some eyebrows raised among Reds fans (I’m n...

Player Profile #88: Mat Latos | SP | CIN

It was just two years ago that Mat Latos finished 13th in the league with a 2.92 ERA. That year he struck out over a batter per inning and held opponents to just a .216 average. Last season didn’t go quite as well. Latos finished outside the top 100, but his 3.16 FIP was only marginally worse than the year before. This season Latos finds himself pitching in Cincinnati instead...

Latos ready to go the distance for the Reds

Even though right-hander Mat Latos knows most of the Reds as opponents, he practically leaped at the chance to fly almost all way across the country and meet them for the first time as teammates.
