Baseball is only a month old, and it’s already time to start submitting your ballots for the 2013 All-Star Game in New York City.
Below are two Hot Corner bloggers’ opinions on players they think should be in this year’s game.
Paul Goldschmidt, Arizona Diamondbacks First Baseman
Goldy was a long-shot to make the team in 2011, and the call up came as a big surprise. Since then, he has been a dominating force at the plate and at the corner infield. At 25, he’ll be around the organization for a while (plus, he just signed a 5-year, $32 million contract). Last year, he was one of the Top 25 National League players in six different categories (AVG; OBP; SLG; OPS; Walks; and Doubles).
This year, he already has a .292 batting average, .387 OBP, 5 home runs, 19 RBI’s, and on the fielding side, he is maintaining 1.000 Fielding Percentage, 0 Errors, and been a part of 24 Double Plays.
