With spring training two weeks away, it's time to start thinking about your 2023 MLB future bets. With most sportsbooks offering odds on award winners, we dive into the AL Most Valuable Player market.

American League Most Valuable Player

Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Angeles, DH, OF, P (+220)
The current favorite to win the 2023 award, Ohtani is a two-way player who puts up video game numbers. In 2022, he had 34 home runs and 95 RBI and went 15-9 with a 2.33 ERA and 219 strikeouts. Yet he didn't win MVP, thanks to the next guy on the list.

Aaron Judge, New York Yankees, right fielder (+600)
The 2022 AL MVP is coming off an incredible season that saw him set the American League single-season home run record (62) and lead the majors in RBI (131) and runs (133). In the offseason, he signed a nine-year, $360 million deal, the third richest in MLB history. Will he press, or is a Judge a safe bet to go back-to-back?

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Toronto Blue Jays, IF (+1500)
After sharing the league lead for home runs in 2021, Vlad took a step back in 2022. He hit 32 home runs and drove in 97 runs, but those figures were far off his 48 HRs and 111 RBI from 2021. Always a threat at the plate, he should find even more success with the hitter-friendly dimension changes at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
