With Spring Training less than a month away, the Red Sox 40 Man Roster should be fairly set until the end of camp. I'll take this opportunity to review the entire roster. Lets face it, there's not much else going on. Drake Britton is ranked by soxprospects.com as the organization's 11th best prospect. He is behind other hurlers Matt Barnes, Allen Webster, Rubby De La Rosa, and Henry Owens.  Chances are he will never start a game for the Red Sox in 2013, or for that matter ever. Britton does have a good arm.  As a starting pitcher in the minors his fastball sits in the low 90s, touching 95MPH.  Opinions on his secondary offerings range from below average to work in progress depending on one's point of view.  Combine that with command and control issues, it does appear Britton's future lies in the bullpen.  That is especially true if that future is with the Red Sox. So far the Red Sox bullpen looks as deep as it has in years.  Still, whenever you are talkin...

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Kalish will have another surgery on his troublesome right (non-throwing) shoulder next week, and would be sidelined throughout spring training and miss a chance to earn a spot on the Red Sox’ Opening ...

Four real? Four reasons why signing Pedro and Jason Varitek is a smart move for the 2013 Red Sox.

Life is good in Boston. Pedro Martinez and Jason Varitek have re-signed and everyone is hopeful for 2007. Wait, I've heard that line before. Well, although its 2013, Pedro and Varitek are both being signed by Boston, but this time it is as Special Assistants to the General Manager. While we fans are excited to see two legends come back and help their old team, what will this...

Ryan Sweeney Promises ‘No Punching Doors This Year’ in Return to Red Sox

Ryan Kalish and Ryan Sweeney made up an ignominious injury duo in the Red Sox’ outfield last year, with neither player able to be fully healthy and lock down one of the open outfield spots. This winter, things already look bad for Kalish, who needs shoulder surgery and is expected to miss spring training. The Red Sox responded to that news by reportedly bringing back Sweeney ...

It’s now going on nine years since the Red Sox broke the Curse of the Bambino and captured the franchise’s first World Series title in 86 years. The Video Vault: Special assistant Pedro "Peety" Martinez

Today the Red Sox announced that Pedro “Peety” Martinez would be rejoining the Red Sox organization as a special assistant to the general manager. I don’t know what a “special assistant to the general manager” does exactly, but I’m stoked to have him back in Beantown. I won’t speak on behalf of the entire Red Sox Nation (although I could and most of the time should...

Are Red Sox and Pirates playing lets make a deal again?
