Haven't we heard this before?
Mets reliever Aaron Heilman apparently called GM Omar Minaya yesterday to discuss a role in the starting rotation. Minaya, though, still sees Heilman as part of the bullpen.
"We talked and he expressed himself," Minaya said. "He told me that he'd like the opportunity to start. But my job is to make sure I do what's in the best interest of the team, and we still see him in the bullpen."I guess Heilman figures that since he's sucked in the bullpen, the Mets might as well give him a shot in the rotation to see if he can do any better. I say the chances Heilman is a Met when the '09 campaign starts are about 40% right now.Check out more from Tony Arnoldine at http://tonyblogs.net

He also has a $ 1 Million dollar buyout. The Mets would love this because 1) he is affordable and the Mets...

Mets’ Stadium May Need Congressional Bailout
Selling the naming rights for your stadium sounds all well and good on paper. For just the cost of changing your team stationery, and perhaps the derision of your fanbase, you can pull in tens of millions of dollars each year. And in most cases, it's pretty painless. But nothing's painless when ...

Mets leaning towards Hoffman....
Hopefully this is a misdirection ploy or someone who's been misinformed, otherwise this would be a move that the organization would gravely regret. Heilman Wants Out If He Can't Start
Mets pitcher Aaron Heilman told the NY Daily News that if the Mets won't let him start, he would like to be traded. Heilman isn't exactly in a position to demand a starting spot, considering he went 3-8 with a 5.21 ERA in 78 games for the Mets. He is thirty years old, and probably needs a change of scenery to really live up to his potential. With that said, the Rockies could...
