Bad Thing- Jimmy Rollins is hitless in his last 27 at bats. Yes, the same Jimmy Rollins that was the 2007 NL MVP. The same Jimmy Rollins that remains leading off for the defending World Series champions. The same Jimmy Rollins that is batting .205 with a .569 OPS. That Jimmy Rollins is now officially classified in the "suck" department. This isn't a slump, this isn't a funk, it's a ****** season. He is currently ranked 4th from the bottom in batting average among qualified batters and 2nd from the bottom in OPS (Brian Giles is the lowest of the low).Bad Thing- In 15 starts this season Cole Hamels has failed to go 5 innings in 5 of his starts, that's 1/3 of the time. In 6 of his starts he's allowed 4 or more earned runs. His stats are not of ace quality, with a 4-5 record, 4.98 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and an unbelievably high .312 batting average against. The 25 year old had two very strong seasons in 2007/2008, but he's completely crapping the bed ...

Jimmy Rollins got a hit in Thursday night's game! In fact, Rollins got two hits, and is now two for his last thirty-one! The Red Bull must be sparking his resurgence...
Raul Ibanez worked out in Reading for the third consecutive day, but did not play. Ibanez continues to not play, and the Phillies continue to indicate that he hasn't "had a setback" and that they...
The Most Poorly Timed Athlete Promotion Ever, Starring Jimmy Rollins and Red Bull
As annoying as athlete promotions and endorsements can sometimes be, I try not to begrudge a man his right to make some additional money based on his successes on the field of play. You can bet I'd be doing the same if Doritos or Pepsi or Nuprin came calling. Some of the recent ads starring players are even pretty good, including Jimmy Rollins' last foray. Still, these promotions...
"208!, 208!", Check that, "207!, 207!"
Usually Braves fans annoy the piss outta me, but last night I felt compelled to join in their cheering. No, not that politically incorrect tomahawk chop crap, but the heckling they were aiming at Jimmy Rollins. J-Roll, fresh off of a 4 game mind and body refresher was stupidly slotted back into the leadoff spot. Perched atop the lineup last night he set the table beautifully by...
Top O’ the Order
Jimmy Rollins produces his second two hit night in a row as he, Victorino and Utley combined for seven hits in fourteen at bats, with two doubles and a triple. The trio scores four runs and drives in four runs as the Phillies defeat the Mets 7-2. Rollins doubled twice, and the Philadelphia [...]
Rollins and Victorino Paltry Against Braves
Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino are 6-for-70 against the Braves this season. They’re hitting a combined .086, with a .143 on-base percentage.
Think about that for a second. This means that the top two hitters in the Phillies lineup have gotten on base once every seven plate appearances against Atlanta, a team the Phils are 2-6 [...]
Rollins and Lopez Lead Phillies Over Mets
When Jimmy Rollins goes, this team goes. That is exactly what happened tonight in the Phillies 7-2 victory over the New York Mets.
Rollins led off the game with a double, starting the Phillies offensive explosion off Mets’ starter Livan Hernandez. Rollins scored on Chase Utley’s single and Greg Dobbs doubled giving Rodrigo Lopez an early cushion.
The Phillies couldn’t [...]
Phillies' Rollins back in lineup after sitting four games
Jimmy Rollins is back in Philadelphia's lineup after sitting out four straight games.
Get Rollins Out Of There
David Murphy makes me a little nuts in today’s PDN: It was difficult not to look at the box score and see the top of the Phillies' lineup, particularly the very top, where Jimmy Rollins ended a four-game benching with an 0-for-5 night that included two strikeouts, two groundouts and a pop-up.Manuel gave the verbal equivalent of a shrug when asked about Rollins' performance...

New Season
Tonight is the start of a new season. The Phillies, Marlins, Mets, and Braves are all separated by only 2 games. It's Philly versus NY this weekend, while Atlanta heads to Washington, and Florida is at home against Pittsburgh. Watch Out Below
The Phils limped home last night following a third straight loss to the Braves at Turner Field and for the first time in more than a month find they are no longer in sole possession of first place. While still atop the standings in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, they are no doubt listed second in the Miami Herald. That's OK; they weren't in first place at this...
