The Astros are in the basement of the NL Central with little of no hope for the next few years of being anywhere else. While we can certainly ridicule Ed Wade and Drayton McLane, perhaps we should point the finger at the beat writers who have defended them and sold their lies.

ESPN's Buster Olney is reporting that the Padres and Astros are in talks to make a deal for Randy Wolf, in exchange for prospects. Olney points out that the Astros have a dismal farm system and it makes little sense to give up whatever prospects they might value for a pitcher who is sure to go to a higher bidder come fall and the free-agent market.UPDATE: The deal has been completed...
