After missing the entire 2009 season after offseason surgery to repair a torn flexor tendon in his pitching arm, right-hander Ben Sheets told MLB.com he plans to return in 2010. He said he will be "more than ready to go" for next season.
In eight major league seasons (all with the Milwaukee Brewers), Sheets is 86-83 with a 3.72 ERA. The Web site speculated the Brewers, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox could be among Sheets' suitors in the free-agent market.

After John Lackey, there is no other top flight starter available on the free agent market. Randy Wolf is good, but he is not an ace. Joel Pineiro had a solid 2009, but no one knows if he can repeat that. No one knows exactly how Aroldis Chapman will fare in the majors. Erik Bedard and Justin Duchscherer are very good pitchers when healthy, but the problem has been keeping them healthy...

Adam McCalvy, in a report for MLB.com, says that former Brewers starter Ben Sheets intends to pitch in 2010 after missing all of 2009 due to a torn flexor tendon in his throwing arm.
Sheets is currently throwing off of flat ground and is expected to be ready for Spring Training.

The other day Marty Noble talked about some “buzz” regarding the Mets interest in Mike Cameron.
