Sporting News staff reports After missing the entire 2009 season after offseason surgery to repair a torn flexor tendon in his pitching arm, right-hander Ben Sheets told MLB.com he plans to return in 2010. He said he will be "more than ready to go" for next season. In eight major league seasons (all with the Milwaukee Brewers), Sheets is 86-83 with a 3.72 ERA. The Web site speculated the Brewers, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox could be among Sheets' suitors in the free-agent market.

The Case Against Mike Cameron

The other day Marty Noble talked about some “buzz” regarding the Mets interest in Mike Cameron. To my surprise there was little reaction from fan base (perhaps they are hiding with Yanks/Phillies on the horizon), or they genuinely like Cameron. Personally I just don’t see how this makes the Mets any better. The Mets need an [...]

Peterson hire good for both arms, heads

Reconnect the seams, and a primary reason why the Milwaukee Brewers unraveled last season becomes as clear as the commissioner's signature on the baseball. The pitching coach left and the starters fell to pieces.
