They wisely stopped play in the ninth inning of this one after shortstop Jack Wilson appeared to be auditioning for a Tide commercial as he scrambled on his chest to pick up a grounder in the mud. The Rangers had two on with none out when they stopped play as a rain that had been pouring down the past two innings took a turn for the worse.
Seattle finally wound up with an 8-3 win...

We're in a rain delay situation here in Texas. It's expected to last at least one hour, with an update expected at 6 p.m. Pacific time. Plenty of Ichiro fans here to see whether he'll notch a record ninth straight 200-hit season. But I'll tell you what, if they don't get this game in tonight, he might not set the record until he's back in Seattle. Folks here...

We've been all over the Ichiro record thing, but Felix Hernandez was instrumental in tonight's 5-0 win by the Mariners in Game 2 of the doubleheader, Hernandez tossed seven shutout innings of four-hit ball, lowering his ERA from 2.61 to 2.52. He's getting closer to Zack Greinke in that Cy Young Award race.
A career high 15th win by Hernandez tonight. That's something...
