    I think this was a great signing for the Red Sox. Sure he had a down season but he is the unquestioned Captain of this team and I think is indespensible.

    I think it's a good signing too. There's some good young talent on the team and in the system that will benefit from Tek. I know he's capable of even having a worse offensive season than last year but this pitching staff needs him this year.

    Not surprising at all considering there was no market for a C coming off a season where he batted .220. Not to mention any team signing him would've had to surrender a draft pick, believe first round. Smart move Jason to turn down that arbitration offer. Looks like it worked out well for ya.

    just call him elmers cause he's a glue guy for this team. no matter how he does with the bat (and it's not likely he'll be as inconsistent as last year), the chemistry he has with the pitching staff is irreplaceable.
