Brewers dip into farm well to refill a chewed-up pen

PLAYERS: Jorge Julio,  Mike Burns
The Brewers released Jorge Julio, eating the remainder of his $950,000 contract, and summoned journeyman Mike Burns from Class AAA Nashville. The 30-year-old right-hander was 6-2 with a 2.98 earned run average in 10 starts for the Sounds, and more important, was throwing strikes (11 walks in 63 1/3 innings).
