It might be a bit early to discuss game 7, given the fact that there might hopefully won't be one, but a thought popped into my head after reading this. Why not start Brett Myers in Game 7 of the World Series? If you're the Phillies your options are "I can't wait for the season to end" Cole Hamels, Blanton on 3 days rest, rookie J.A. Happ, or former ace of your staff Myers. Cole Hamels is averaging just under 5 innings per 4 playoff start and is giving up 4 runs per outing. He obviously does not have his **** together now. If you aren't going Cliff Lee on 3-days rest, why would you go with Blanton on 3-days rest? J.A. Happ had a terrific season but in his lone postseason start ever 3 runs in 3 innings. Is that the gamble you want to take? Starting Brett Myers would be a MASSIVE gamble. He hasn't started since he went on the DL in on May 27th. He hasn't even pitched often this postseason, appearing in just two games. He was just mediocre in his World Series start last year g...
