Another Cubs Blog:
Even though Lee Elia didn’t get suspended by the organization for calling the fans cocksuckers, Milton Bradley was suspended for the rest of the year (15 games) for saying that Chicago wasn’t a positive environment and that he understood why they hadn’t won in 100 years. Bradley shouldn’t have said what he did, but when you stick a microphone in his face these days, what do you think you’ll get? I guess Bradley learned a hard lesson here. He should have just said this:
What the **** am I supposed to do, go out there and let my ******’ players get destroyed every day and be quiet about it? For the ******’ nickel-dime people who turn up? The ************* don’t even work. That’s why they’re out at the ******’ game. They oughta go out and get a ******’ job and find out what it’s like to go out and earn a ******’ living. Eighty-five percent of the ******’ world is working. The other fifteen percent come out here. A ******’ playground for the cocksuckers. Rip them *************. Rip them ******’ cocksuckers like the ******’ players.
That’s as true as what Bradley said, but apparently it’s more acceptable.
The funny thing here is that the Cubs will get rid of Bradley, paying all of his contract, and then have to pay someone else to play RF who probably won’t be as good. They’ll have to do this while quite likely being unable to spend much money. I guess the last laugh will be on the Cubs fan. The 2010 season will a bad one for this team, but hey, at least there won’t be some uppity negro playing RF that the fans can say offensive **** to.
So, the Cubs will pay Bradley to play elsewhere, get nothing in return, have to pay someone else to pay his position worse than Bradley can, fill other positions and do so on a tight budget. I now understand why the Cubs have gone 100 years without a championship. I just hope I don’t get suspended for saying that.

Feel Free To Hate Milton Bradley, But Get Mad At Jim Hendry, Too
The more I read and think about the Milton Bradley situation, the more I tend to agree with Baseball Prospectus’ paywalled Joe Sheehan: This mess is Jim Hendry’s fault, too. From Sheehan’s column:
I expect Jim Hendry to know these things, but if Hendry were to admit that Bradley has played about as well and [...]

Milton Bradley Continues to Be a Ray of Sunshine In Chicago
For Chicago Cubs right fielder Milton Bradley, his first season in the Windy City playing for the Cubs has not been the best time of his life. After signing a three-year $30 million contract with the team over the winter Bradley has hit .257 with an OPS of .775, with 12 home runs and only 40 runs driven in.Not exactly the kind of production either he or the team were looking for.Of course,
Suspending Disbelief, And Milton Bradley Too
The Cubs suspended Milton Bradley on Sunday after he made what management considered intemperate remarks to the Daily Herald:
When asked if he was disappointed in his own performance, he didn't want to answer that, either.
"I'm not talking about that," he said. What do you think I did?"
Bradley claimed to have no opinion on where he bats - "In the lineup...
Cubs Didn’t Look At Milton Bradley’s Intangibles; Lesson Learned
I haven’t really had a lot of nice things to say about the four-year deal the Mets gave Luis Castillo just before the start of the 2008 season. It turns out that he was injured or in pain for most of the season in the first year of that contract, but this year Castillo has [...]
Milton Bradley's Mother Must Be a Cardinals Fan
If someone polled Kris, Drew and me about our most favoritest players in baseball and then collated our selections to rank the players on one overall list, I doubt Milton Bradley would finish in the top ten. But there is perhaps no other athlete who best fits into the mission statement of Walkoff Walk. Milton Bradley is both talented and yet fails to live up to expectations; Milton...
Milton Bradley Strikes Again, Begs the Question: Why Bother?
It's getting towards late September and that means several annual rituals are starting at the altar of Major League Baseball.

Series Preview: Cubs at Milwaukee
OverviewMilton Bradley is suspended, Alfonso Soriano is hurt, and Kevin Gregg is a deadman walking. The three scapegoats of the season all seem to be getting their just desserts. Unfortunately, we are the ones that have to eat the crapcake they baked for us over these last 15 games.
Now we can sit here and eat it while trying to find something good to say about 2009, or we can start...
