Another Cubs Blog:
The Legend came home today and he was in vintage form against his long-time former team. It’s going to the bottom of the 8th inning right now, but so far Mark DeRosa has thrown 7 innings and allowed only 2 solo home runs. These were clearly home runs DeRosa was giving to his former club mates. On top of the pitching performance, DeRosa slugged a 3-run home run while playing shortstop and he then added another 3-run home run while playing 1st base. Even more impressive, DeRosa decided to treat the Wrigley faithful to a surprise by batting left-handed today. DeRosa also drove in another run to put the Indians up 7-0 early against Rich Harden. It’s possible that other former Cub will get into the game yet, but nobody can remember his name anymore. Kerry something.
As I’m writing this, Eric Wedge has taken DeRosa out of the game (he also pitched left-handed by the way) and they are bringing in the right-handed Mark DeRosa out of relief.
On defense, DeRosa made a couple spectacular plays. He robbed the Cubs of a hit up the middle while playing 2nd base and he made a nice sliding catch while in RF. It was a busy day for the prodigal, but he handled it well. DeRosa was briefly injured after trying to catch a fly ball he allowed down the left field line. After throwing the pitch, DeRosa sprinted toward the Cubs bullpen mounds and slammed into the wall. The Wrigley faithful gave him a standing ovation.

Wood, DeRosa miss Wrigley Field atmosphere
Cleveland manager Eric Wedge figured his organization made two good acquisitions in the winter obtaining ex-Cubs Mark DeRosa and Kerry Wood -- but it was Cub fans who made him feel all the better about the moves. ``Every time I saw a Cubs fan they were yelling and screaming at me that they wanted those two back,'' he said Friday. ``I took that as a pretty positive sign.''
