I imagine this means that if Giambi's back in the lineup any time soon, it'll be exclusively as a DH, meaning Torre is stuck with a weak hitting quasi-platoon at first until further notice. I know this was the plan coming into the season anyway, but I'm still not convinced it's the best idea.
