Game One Hundred-Five - Cubs 6 Reds 3
WP - Tom Gorzelanny (4-1) LP - Johnny Cueto (8-9) Save - None
Tom Gorzelanny made his Cubs' debut on Tuesday night against the Reds ... and turned in a gem. In his first big league start since last September, Gorzelanny tossed seven innings of shutout ball and did not allow a run while he was on the mound. Gorzelanny attacked Reds' hitters all night. He allowed only three hits with a walk and a hit batsman. Gorzelanny left in the eighth with two on and one out after he allowed his third hit of the game ... it was the first time all night the Reds put two runners on base against Gorzelanny.
Gorzelanny even contributed with his bat in the Cubs' four-run sixth inning. Gorzelanny delivered a two-out RBI single to left that plated Alfonso Soriano with the Cubs fourth run.
Tom Gorzelanny allowed one run on three hits with a walk, a hit batsman and six strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. Gorzelanny received a standing ovation from the Fa...

Game Recap: Cubs 6, Reds 3 -- more bullpen angst
Tom Gorzelanny, welcome to Chicago.
The new Cubs lefty made his debut tonight, and he was above-and-beyond what we were probably expecting. Gorzo went 7.1 innings against the Reds, holding them to 3 hits, 1 walk, and 1 earned run while striking out 6. Of course, the Cubs bullpen would make things interesting, with Angel Guzman surrendering a 2-run homer in a 9th...

Cubs hold off Reds in 6-3 victory
Tom Gorzelanny made his Cubs debut and he was marvelous as he allowed just three hits and one run in 7 and 1/3 innings. The Cubs offense helped him out with solo home runs from Kosuke Fukudome and Derek Lee. Koyie Hill had a great at bat in the sixth to drive in two runs as well. But what's going on with the bullpen?!

Tom Gorzelanny: The Answer For The Chicago Cubs?
Many people thought of Tom Gorzelanny as a "throw-in" in the recent trade between the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is trying to prove otherwise.
Most of the focus was on John Grabow when he and Gorzelanny were traded to Chicago. Grabow went straight to the major league team, while Gorzelanny was sent to the AAA club. It wasn't long until Gorzelanny...

Gozelanny Lilly Like
Tom Gorzelanny could have passed for Ted Lilly Tuesday night.
The lefty threw much better than I expected him too. Probably didn’t hurt that he was throwing for his home town team in front of an unusual home town crowd.
Of course, I assume Gorzelanny would’ve been motivated pitching in Death Valley instead of throwing another inning [...]
