Deadspin:
Today, the Tacoma News Tribune takes a long look at the blossoming friendship between Ichiro and Ken Griffey Jr. Among the many touching revelations: Griffey will tickle Ichiro until he calls out what one might describe as a safe word. Ichiro is apparently happy for the first time in years, and if the News Tribune's Larry LaRue is to be believed, this has a lot to do with Ken Griffey Jr. and his magic fingers: Ichiro Suzuki spreads a towel on the carpeted floor in front of his locker, lies on his back and begins doing stretching exercises. Ichiro's laughter is almost childlike – genuine and uncontrolled – and after about five seconds he screams the magic word to make Griffey stop. Junior stands up, walks back to his locker and sits down. Ichiro lies quietly for a moment, letting his body relax, then goes back to stretching as if nothing had hap...

Life To Flying Things
Franklin Gutierrez has been one of the best things about the Mariners this year. He’s legitimately in the conversation for the best defensive outfielder in baseball, and he might even win the argument. As he showed again last night, he gets a phenomenal jump on balls and takes great routes, making plays that [...]--

Alex Rodriguez Image Rehabilitation Tour Continues
The non-shocking news that Sammy Sosa is a cheater is so outrageous (not really) that it almost makes you forget about....what's his name? Maybe this Yankee baseball player with the soft and supple handshake will distract you from all that. You haven't heard much about Alex Rodriguez since he came back from his month-long DL stint, because he's mostly kept his mouth shut...

All-Star Worthy Brewers… Really?
Not to step on Tyler’s Brewer-loving toes here, but I saw a graphic on Brewers TV during the Rockies series that made me scratch my head.

Wakamatsu was asked back in April, when Maddon and his Rays were in town for a series, whether he would be interested in giving up his time off during the break to be a coach.
Wakamatsu...
Closing the book on an eventful Wednesday
To start things off, here's Ryan Rowland-Smith's pitching line from his rehab start in Portland: 6 1/3 innings, 9 hits, 5 runs, 5 earned runs, 1 BB, 4 K. Will that finally earn him the call? I don't know. With Garrett Olson's strong outing tonight, there doesn't seem to be an rotation opening for him, even with Erik Bedard going on the DL. We'll see what Wakamatsu...

A-Rod says he's still working out June bugs
Alex Rodriguez says everyone should be patient. He will hit like a superstar again. He is barely three months removed from hip surgery and isn't quite himself yet. Most things still don't feel as they did before the procedure.

Call it what you will. The Yankees/Red Sox matchup of interleague play. One of the most heated rivalries in the MLB.
