Comebacks Delivered While You Wait: Angels 9, Orioles 6

However the story of this season gets written up, one part of it that has probably been underestimated is Joe Saunders' sudden suck; after April, he's got a 4.61 ERA, and 25 walks in 70.1 IP (prior to today). He added three more walks and six runs to that total today, five earned; the unearned one came thanks to a Howie Kendrick misplay in the top of the third on what should...

Q&A with an Angels blogger

Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register -- and an Angels blogger -- was kind enough to answer some questions about the Angels for us again. I tried to ask a few different ones since the clubs just played last week. Flip the page and check out the last answer about John Lackey. What kind of respect do the Angels have for the Rangers? Has the first six games given the Angels the...

Former Angels bench coach Joe Maddon snubs right-hander Jered Weaver for the 80 year-old Tim Wakefield who has an era over 4.00 and a whip over 1.30. Wakefield...

Kinsler breaks through

That was good to see. Kinsler had made solid contact in his third at-bat, and in his fourth at-bat he took Jered Weaver out of the park to left field, ending an 0-for-24 streak. Still 9-4 Angels, but Hamilton has looked good and maybe Kinsler can get something going. On the other hand, Millwood has been less than impressive in his last two starts, giving up 13 earned runs in 11 1/3 innings.

Play it again: Orioles 6, Angels 4

HIS TIME Orioles rookie right-hander David Hernandez (2-2) justified his spot in the rotation Friday, holding the Los Angeles Angels to three runs in 6 2/3 innings in his second career victory. Hernandez surrendered six hits and walked two before Jim Johnson and George Sherrill got the final seven outs.

Baltimore Orioles (36-45) at LA Angels of Anaheim (44-35), 3:35 p.m.

Joe Saunders will try to rebound from a disastrous start when he takes the hill for the LA Angels of Anaheim in the finale of a four- game set against the Baltimore Orioles at Angel Stadium.

Mathis' 3-run homer leads Angels over Rangers 9-4

Before hitting a pair of RBI singles and robbing Hank Blalock of an extra-base hit with yet another defensive gem in center field, Torii Hunter nearly saw his errorless streak slip away.
