When Rockies closer Huston Street reported to his new team last spring, his pitching coach had a rather odd welcome for him. It went basically like this: "Hello, great to have you here. Now, Huston, we want you to change the way you've pitched your entire career." Street's reaction: "You've got to be kidding." "I like revolted," Street said. "You traded for me, let me be that guy you traded for." The change that Bob Apodaca requested wouldn't seem like a big deal unless you're a pitcher. Apodaca wanted the righthanded-throwing Street to switch from the left side of the pitching rubber to the right, or at least shift to the middle. A move of maybe 12 or so inches on a 24-inch rubber.
