Cursed To First:
...but, alas, it must be done. Do you recall ever seeing him with such an expression? Me, either. Pissed off, yes. Looking that...defeated? No. Hilg. About midway through the bottom of the second, as Beckett shook off V-Mart and fussed...

Trying to Reason With the Offseason
Today's loss is slowly starting to sink in with the realization that there will be no posting of a Red Sox lineup for Game 4. There will be no discussion of how well Lester will pitch on short rest, there will be no talk of how to stop the Angels running game. There are however, several things that will be discussed in the coming days including:

Fireside Chats #63: Where we lick our wounds and call for the wolf
Episode #63
Hosts: Paul Testa, Tim Daloisio

Game 2 - American League Division SeriesAngels 4, Red Sox 1Angels lead 2-0Let's review the bidding, then. In two ALDS games, the Red Sox have one run. Okay, that'll be just about enough. Sure, Josh Beckett and Jon Lester could've been a little better, but when you're pitching with a razor-thin margin for error, sometimes you get cut. Pretty simple game, baseball...
After Two Nights Of NESN on tbs, NOT VERY FUNNY
OK, Announcer Boy Don Orsillo and Buck Martinez, with Buck being ONE of 26 Broadcast Partners for Mr Orsillo on NESN, while we awaited the Return of Gerald Peter Remy from his Illness, were fine these last two evenings, unlike the Pitching of Mr Jon Lester and Mr Josh Beckett, and the Nonexistent Offense:I've heard of Vacations but this is ridiculous. Making John Lackey and Jerrold...
Do Or Die: Sox-Angels ALDS Gamer II
As it has so often before, the Red Sox' season rests on the right shoulder of on Josh Beckett. Sure, the Sox could come back and win three straight if they lose tonight. But there's only so many times you can play that tune, and one suspects after last year's...
Red Sox-Angels: Angels Take Game Two Behind Weaver Gem
“It’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall time.” That was the text my buddy Odie sent me when Erik Aybar tripled home two runs in the seventh inning off of Josh Beckett to make the score 4-1 the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim...Read the full article on Bleacher Report...
Angels, Bosox tied at 1 thru 6 innings in Game 2
Josh Beckett and Jered Weaver remained locked in a pitcher's duel Friday night, with the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels tied at 1 through six innings in Game 2 of their AL playoff series.
Lester to Start Game 4
Terry Francona told reporters that his plan is to have Jon Lester start Game 4 of the ALDS (if necessary) at Fenway Park and have Josh Beckett pitch Game 5 (if necessary). Lester would be going on 3 days rest and if he does not feel ready for the start Dice-K would go, assuming he is not needed tonight or Sunday in early relief of Beckett or Buchholz.
L.A. takes 2-0 series lead
With Jered Weaver picking up right where John Lackey left off for the Los Angeles Angels, not even Josh Beckett could keep the Boston Red Sox from the brink of playoff elimination.
