Eli's MLB Rumors:
According to Jon Heyman, Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez is looking to start negotiating at five years around fifteen million dollars annually. His agent would not get into deals so bidding was not already set, but said they are looking for a record deal. His client can basically set the premium after coming off a career year, so look for him to earn around 17-18 million dollars. If he signs that kind of contract, expect the market to go way up for both relievers and starters.A Expect to see a team like the Cardinals aggressively pursue Rodriguez early, in hopes that he would sign a contract netting him 16 million dollars annually.A

Why wouldn't the Mets give him $15 million a year? Wagners career is over and if they had him this past year...they'd be in the playoffs playing the Cubs right now.

Evil wins again
Jeff Rosenfield and I have had a back and forth of sorts about our teams, me labeling the Angels-Red Sox battle as good vs. evil, and him rolling with it, pointing out evil usually wins.

That shouldn't surprise me. I've listened to people all week assume the [...]
Angels Sign Korean Pitcher
The Angels made a big international splash this week signing Korean pitcher Pil Joon Jang. Jang, 20, is one of the best young amateur pitchers in Korea. He might go pitch for one of the instructional teams in Australia or in the Dominican Republic, but the Angels expect big things from him...
