From FOX 9 News:
HOUSTON - Former Minnesota Twins infielder Chuck Knoblauch has been charged with assault for allegedly choking and hitting his wife.
A judge set Knoblauch's bond at $10,000 after he appeared in court Tuesday. According to the criminal complaint, Knoblauch's common law wife told police he hit her in the face, then choked her at their Houston home on Friday.
Knoblauch, 41, faces two to ten years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine, if convicted. Officers from the Memorial Village Police Department arrived on the scene and witnessed the wife had redness around her neck and swelling near her eye, according to court documents.
A warrant was issued for Knoblauch and he turned himself in for the court appearance.
Cherish the stuff you see on the field, because a lot of these guys are scumbags once they take off the pinstripes and leave the Stadium.
