Trailing 1-0 to the defending champs creates the first real October adversity the 2009 Yankees have faced and a must win situation in tonight's game 2. A.J. Burnett must go out and show the Yankees that throwing that $82.5 million contract his way last offseason was the right decision. CC Sabathia expressed the same feelings last night following the loss, saying “we need [A.J.] more than ever now.” Obviously, the main problem with A.J. Burnett, and the thing that has me worried the most right now, is his inconsistency. You just don't know which Burnett will show up tonight. When Burnett is on he can match up with anybody in the league, when he's not he can match up with anybody in the minor leagues.The fact that the Yankees will be facing a fired up Pedro Martinez makes Burnett's need to be on top of his game even greater.
