President Bush booed at Washington Nationals season opener

President George W. Bush threw out the the first pitch last night for the Washington Nationals season opener and as you can hear from the video the fans in attendance were not big fans. While President Bush was introduced you can hear more boos then cheers for the outgoing Commander-in-Chief. Honestly, I might not be a fan of Bush but I don't agree with booing him.

i can agree with booing him, just like a baseball player that is doing bad we boo him when he comes on the field. if the majority there felt he's doing bad, then yes boo him

I totally agree!!!

I wish I could've been there to boo the worst president in the history of the U.S.

Jimmy Carter a close second. He let our hostages rot over in Iran a few years ago.

It was more than a few years ago but I totally agree with you..... Bush has been in a league of his own though..

haha. i agree with mysportsrumors i mean, if u dont like him, i guess u have the right to boo him.
if only would could intentionally peg him

SWEET

I think after what he has done he should be hissed booed and ridiculed every where he goes.I wish we could send him to jail for his crimes but oh well.At least he can walk around in shame for the rest of his life like OJ.

Rolls Right off his %*$#@*& Couldn,t care less.........Got Rich,with tax-payer money.........

Had to know the boos were coming.

how the fcck did this a$$hole get re-elected? its just embarrassing

bush is a retard

you're a retard for saying that.

there was a mixture of applause and boos as he was approaching the mound, and then an overwhelming positive applause after he threw opening pitch. regardless of your opinion of the President, this is a great tradition to celebrate the start of the season, and all baseball fans should applaud the President for acknowledging the sport and its fans.

Gee, thanks for the lesson in patriotism.I'll bet you're sad you can't elect that dolt for a third term.Don't take it too hard, though.McCain will probably win and continue the Bush legacy of imperialism and making defense contractors filthy rich. You can applaud a new asshole with the same agenda next year if you wish.

I don't see how what I said is pro/anti Bush. For that matter I don't understand how respecting a president for throwing out a first pitch has any political implications whatsoever.

Thumbsup, the whole point of booing Bush is to show that you DON'T respect him.My loathing of George Bush transends any traditon, baseball related or otherwise. His reign as king of the western world has polarized U.S. citizens to levels of hyper-sensitivity.If you feel victimized by my comments I apologize.Truly, no political statement was made by Bush simply by throwing that pitch but I see nothing wrong with using the event as a public forum for voicing displeasure the man.The issues that made them boo are more important than keeping up tradition.

Sorry thumbsup. No one is going to give you a thumbs up on this one. If you want a thumbs up jump the fence and step away from the dark side.

yeah bush is a retard, look at our economy, the state of the war, and he makes the rich richer and the poor poorer, so yeah i think that constitutes as a pretty bad president, or a retard.

"thumbs down" for your dumb comment, thumbsup
so we should applaud a president, no matter what he's done? even if he's a terrorist? lets say bin laden was our president n threw out the first pitch, u'd still applaud? dumbass.

i wish i was in charge of the sound effects for that stadium that day, i wouldve put on a "boo" soundtrack even louder than how the fans were booing.

Dig it. But take it easy on thumbsup. She (or he) is a true believer. And despite the seeming delusion, we know there are only a few of those left. We need them.

I don't need them. And don't fool yourself.Middle America is teeming with clowns who wish Bush never had to leave office.

VERY TRUE

would have a great time for lee harvey

Careful pal.I hear the FBI monitors Yardbarker for dissenters.

If you dont have anything to say then dont say anything at all!!! Same goes for booing...

Note* I am not a fan of Bush at all!!!! But booing is a little tacky... Just getting the place DEAD SILENT would make for a better showing.. Him walking out on the field with his hand up in the air, with crickets in the back ground!! Tell me that wouldnt be awesome...

For oneandonly: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo.......Nah,I still prefer childish yelling and screaming at people I don't like.Nothing is quite so cathartic as letting Trash Gordon know he sucks as he walks back to the dugout after blowing a Phillies game.Booing is about how YOU feel.I doubt Bush cares one way or the other what a bunch of baseball fans (or anyone else for that matter)thinks about him personally. If you're mad let it out, man.

yeah if he came to philly it would have been 10xs worse

LMAO! I know that's right!

I am surprised people were not arrested for the booing. It would be a typical behavior of his to do so. As for getting the pitch over the plate...he has done this any times since 2001

He's had plenty of time to practice since he's not doing anything about solving the economic crisis in this country.

If it weren't for his HORRENDOUS national and foreign policies I'd suggest the Phillies consider him for some middle relief.
