Scott Boras is a liar? No offer for Varitek
Scott Boras told the media yesterday (while standing on a chair in the hotel lobby) that the Red Sox had made an offer for Jason Varitek.
But Nick Cafardo says that "a source familiar with the talks" is now saying that there was no offer.

Rangers make bid for Tazawa; Sox still the favorite
NPB Tracker is now reporting that the Rangers have also made an offer to Junichi Tazawa and that the young starter has yet to officially sign with a major league club.
The details regarding the Rangers offer have yet to be announced, but NPB says it was "the best offer yet."

Jerry Remy will sing at your Christmas Party...

Dustin Pedroia signs 6-year, $40 million extension
The Boston Globe is reporting that Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia signed a huge extension today. The deal is for $40.5 million over 6 years. The deal also includes an $11 million club option for the 2015 season.
