As part of season reviews for major league players and top prospect ranking for minor league players, we here at Talking Chop thought it would be a fun idea to get all of our bloggers together with the help of Google Docs and debate the various aspects of each position in the Braves organization.
The participants are, yours truly (gondeee, indicated by MG), yondaime4 (indicated by MF), royhobbs (indicated by DH), and cbwilk (indicated by CBW).
The round table for left fielders in the Braves organization is after the jump. MG: No way that Garret Anderson even sniffs a Braves uniform next year, right?DH: Nah, likely not. Even if the Braves relied solely on internal candidates to man the position, it's still a cheaper alternative with Diaz, McLouth, and Church, left to right. He didn't exactly win any fans over with his lackadaisical play, and I hardly think anyone's really going to miss him at all.CBW: You'd hope not. A .705 OPS out of left fi...

Two weeks ago it appeared Tim Hudson was on his way to the land of free agents; however, Ken Rosenthal is now reporting that the 34-year-old has agreed in principle to a three-year extension worth roughly nine million per season. More photos » by Kathy Willens - AP Browse more photos » I think we can officially call the 2009 season of Atlanta Braves outfielder Matt Diaz a "breakout season." For all NL right-fielders with at least 100 plate appearances, Matt Diaz led the league in batting average and on-base percentage. He was behind six other players in slugging percentage in the...
Adding Hudson means subtracting who?
I recently took the time to write an article over at Fan Huddle detailing what the resigning of Tim Hudson means to the Braves. Obviously one of their starting pitchers must go due to financial reasons so I listed the highs and lows of each.
The Braves have three pitchers who are on the trade block [...]
Read: Vazquez and the Braves
Joe D over at MetsMerized Online wonders if Braves starter Javier Vazquez has become expendible, and if so, it might be worth it for the Mets to look into acquiring him.
Vazquez just completed his tenth consecutive season in which he has made 30 starts, and finished the year 15-10 with a 2.87 ERA in 219 [...]
Report: Braves, Hudson close on deal

News: Hudson to Sign Extension with Braves
Tim Hudson and the Braves is expected to sign a three-year extension to stay in Atlanta, according to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com, who now believes the Braves could look to trade one of Derek Lowe or Javier Vazquez.
Hudson was 2–1 with a 3.61 ERA in seven starts for the Braves, after missing much of the season [...]
Odds & Ends: Nationals, Braves, Blue Jays
Some late-afternoon snacks for you...
The incomparable Thomas Boswell answers questions on a variety of subjects, including his belief that Jim Riggleman will return as manager of the Nationals next year. As Boswell puts it, "Has any manager in history ever not been retained after he improved a
team's winning percentage by .125 and ended the season 7-0? Especially...
Where Have All the Good Outfielders Gone?
It’s tough to rate the top outfielders in baseball today, as many of them are impressive hitters (Ryan Braun or Matt Holliday) who aren’t a plus in the field, while others are great defenders who can’t hit a lick...Read the full article on Bleacher Report...
