On December 18, 1918, he was traded by the Yankees along with Frank Gilhooley, Slim Love, Roxy Walters, and $15,000 cash to the Red Sox for P Ernie Shore, OF Duffy Lewis, and P Dutch Leonard.1913 - The Yankees purchased C John Gossett (1913-14) from the White Sox. He appeared in only 49 games for the Yankees, just hitting .159.1917 - Former Yankees P Sal “The Barber” Maglie (1957-58) was born. On September 1, 1957, Sal was selected off waivers by the Yankees from the Dodgers. Sal went 2-0 in 6 games with 3 saves in 1958.
