49ers: How to add insult to injury

Sunday was a bad day for the Niners, as they gave up a flea-flicker on the first series of the game for a near touchdown, and then proceeded to allow multiple scoring drives by the Eagles. The offense suffered from Philly's defense, but was hurt more by their own mistakes and inability to not get penalized. Again, Antonio Bryant and Alex Smith hooked up for a huge pass play down to the 5 yard line, yet it was called back for a holding penalty. There were multiple false starts and illegal motion penalties that ended drives, and then let's not forget about the fumbles. The biggest play of the game in multiple respects was Frank Gore's fumble on the 1 yard line. Not only did the Eagles run it back for a 99 yard touchdown (a 14 point swing) but Frank Gore injured his ribs and left the game, while Vernon Davis broke his leg! Davis is expected to be out for at least the next 4 weeks, while Gore might play next week.
