As you know, the Mariners have been rumored to be shopping Jarrod Washburn. The Mariners are on a 4 game skid and things are not looking up. As you also know, The Phillies are looking to add a solid starter to there rotation.  Although they would prefer Halladay, Jarrod Washburn is not to far of [...]

  • i don't think washburn will have the same value anywhere else. that's not to say i wouldn't like to see him traded for prospects, but safeco park suits him really well. plus he's got one of the best defensive outfields in baseball.
  • Red Sox? I have no clue, just asking?

Ichiro Delivers First Career Walk-Off

Jarrod Washburn pitched seven innings of one run ball tonight, in what probably was his last outing as a Mariner. He left the game with a 3-1 lead, but was robbed of the win when Mark Lowe couldn’t hold it. With two outs in the eighth, and lead cut down to one, he allowed the [...]

Brewers name Tuesday starter (it's not Jarrod Washburn)

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel has recently put up a blog post naming Brewers' Tuesday starter.. And it's....drum roll...Carlos Villanueva. The Mariners game notes for tonight are out, and their Tuesday starter is listed as...Jarrod Washburn. There has been rampant speculation that the Brewers could be on the verge of trading for Washburn, perhaps in time to have him on...

MLB blog: Brewers might trade for Mariners' Washburn

Circling the Bases: Trading Jarrod Washburn to the Brewers appears to be at the top of the Mariners' wish list.

Trade deadline talk: Jarrod Washburn

Just covering our bases here, but Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi put a note regarding Washburn into their "trade deadline buzz": The Yankees, Phillies, Brewers and Rangers all have scouts in Seattle to watch Mariners left-hander Jarrod Washburn face the Blue Jays Tuesday night. The Twins also are represented, but for a different reason. Their interest is in Jays shortstop...

Jarrod Washburn's Value Goes Up at Deadline With Yankees Interested

Jarrod Washburn may have thrown his last pitch in a Seattle Mariners uniform. Making his last scheduled start before Friday's trading deadline, Washburn pitched a gem of a game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night. Washburn's line: Seven innings, five hits, one run, one walk, three strikeouts and a no decision. Washburn is 8-6 with a 2.64 ERA on the season. These...

Heyman's Latest On Yanks

John Heyman has a new article up on SI.com and he has a couple Yankee stuff down. They called the Mariners to ask about Jarrod Washburn, but the M's said they weren't ready to make a move yet. Heyman said that could change, and if they were to trade for Washburn the "Yankees would have to give up a top prospect or two."Bronson Arroyo could be a backup plan for the...

Heyman On Washburn, Halladay, Red Sox, Rangers

Let's dig into the latest from SI's Jon Heyman. The Yankees called the Mariners Saturday to inquire on Jarrod Washburn, and were told at the time that the Ms weren't ready to sell.  Perhaps that has since changed, based on today's report from Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi.  Here's my question: was Seattle's decision to hold on to Washburn...

Odds & Ends: Sheffield, Washburn, Pirates, Irabu

Some links to start your Sunday morning off right... MLB.com's Anthony DiComo says not to assume Gary Sheffield will be traded. Sheff is currently on the disabled list, but may have been attractive to contenders in need of a bat because he can still produce (.286-.388-.481 in 245 PA) and the Tigers are paying pretty much his entire salary. Bob Klapisch of The...

Brewers Rumors: Buyers Or Sellers?

Earlier today, Brewers manager Ken Macha told Tom Haudricourt at the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that the team is trying to get someone that can help "this season and beyond." Haudricourt thinks this could rule out a deal for a rental like Jarrod Washburn from the Mariners, and earlier today it seemed that the Brewers' recent slump had them out of the running just as...

Somehow, The Seattle Mariners have managed to keep their heads above water for a while now and maintained that they were contenders in the AL West. Well, They weren’t and aren’t. Now, according to Rotoworld, They are going into Fire Sale mode to prepare for next season. A source tells FOXSports.com that the Mariners are shifting into “sell mode,” with Jarrod...

Today's moves by Mariners beckon for something more

This morning's trade and then another later on went down when I was hopping into a ride to the airport in order to fly to Texas for the start of tomorrow's series. I am now in Arlington, Tex., which actually feels cooler than Seattle did when I left it this morning. My initial reaction to the trades was that they were a decent start. Perhaps the first phase a two-pronged...
