David Wright and Jeff Francoeur plan to spend two weeks of the off-season at Howard Johnson's home in Florida.The two players plan to work intensively with the hitting coach on their power swing. Johnson has be critcized this year for the lack of power David Wright has exhibited after the two worked to make him a gap hitter this past winter, now it appears Wright is looking for his power stroke to return.Not only does it show the three men's dedication to the team but it also appears to show that the organization still believes in Howard, as do his players. Francoeur really seemed to be fitting into this team ...Jeff Francoeur and David Wright already have scheduled an offseason trip together. With Bobby Valentine talking to ESPN, it suggests that the Mets aren’t talking to him. Which could mean the Mets are planning on repeating the Manuel mistake in 2010. Which would be a shame, because replacing Manuel would be the easiest and cheapest problem to fix on the Mets.
Couple this with rumors that the Mets are talking about signing Jeff Francoeur to a three-year contract...

As most of us have read the Mets have claimed Jack Egbert off waivers (source Newsday) . First of all, there's no harm in this move, all it took was placing Fernando Martinez to the 60 day DL. Egbert is a Long Island native who graduated from Rutgers University, maybe the return to his home town will do his career some good.The 26 y/o right handed made his first two major league...

Tuesday night was the final game on the 15-game plan I purchased before the season, and, most likely, the final game in which I'd be occupying Section 518, Row 17, Seats 3 and 4, unless by some fluke I go to a random game and purchase those seats, or if the Mets decide to jerk me around and offer me the exact same seats next year. I'd prefer to sit a little lower down, thanks...

They moved the Florida Marlins, the team that has dashed the Mets playoff hopes on the last day of the season for the last two years, one step closer to post season elimination by scoring two runs in the top of the ninth inning off Marlins closer Leo Nunez to come from behind for the victory.
