Bruney was the Yankees final unsigned free agent. He requested a contract for $1.55 million, the Yankees countered with $1.1 million so $1.25 million is right in the [...]

Type A Quota! Who Knew?
What an interesting rule. This rule officially takes the Yankees out of the running for any other type A or B free agents. Yes Yankee fans, that means the pipe dreams of signing Manny Ramirez and Ben Sheets are over."The most commonly held misconception of this offseason is that the Yankees ...
Jeter takes his own little piece from old ballpark
Derek Jeter told the media yesterday what souvenir he took from the old Yankee Stadium. He took the Joe DiMaggio sign that was in the tunnel leading to the Yanks' dugout. It was the sign that read: "I want to thank the Good Lord for making me a Yankee" He admitted that he took the sign , and some other items.
Jeter was also questioned about the upcoming season…...
Joe Torre On Larry King
Just got done watching Joe Torre's interview on Larry King Live and all I have to say is man, Larry King looks a lot like a gargoyle. He's one creepy dude. As for the interview itself, I didn't get much out of it. I thought Joe did his best to answer the questions he was being asked without ...

Yanks to take Swisher and Nady to Spring Training?
The Yankees are going to be reporting to Spring Training in a few weeks, and Nady and Swisher are both on the team. Would it really be that bad to carry both of these players? If a deal doesn't get done..it's not like they can't use more depth. If they can somehow get a deal done for Adamn Dunn, then go for it…

A review of the Yankees rotation depth…
Chad Jennings talks about the depth of pitching the Yankees now have. The Yankees have their five guys set for the start of the season in Sabathia, Wang, Burnett, Chamberlain, & Pettitte. The Yankees have a bunch of young players waiting in the wings to get a chance at the big league level, but it won't be that easy considering the Yankees have no spots opened with the addition...
With the addition of Andy Pettitte…does it make sense for Joba to go back to the pen?
It does make sense for Joba to go back to the pen. I'm not trying to start an argument here. I'm just stating how I feel. I'm not the type of person who is totally against Joba in the rotation, because I believe he will be great in both situations. The Yankees don't have a set up man, and Joba would be the perfect fit to complete the unstoppable duo that we had. With...
How Important is the Addition of Pettitte?
Richard Justice of the Sporting News thinks it's very important.Andy Pettitte brings credibility, a winning attitude and a relentless work ethic to the Yankees. In the end, those things might end up being more valuable than anything he does on the mound. The Yankees have been overhauled again ...
Yankee Stadium rec area cost out of the park
People were opposed to the construction of a new stadium because it had a bad impact on the neighborhood. Many people believe that the city is underestimating the amount of work that needs to be done in the surrounding areas around the ballpark. With the construction of the New Yankee Stadium, the cost of restoring the 22 acres of parkland around the new ballpark has gone through...
Torre to appear on 'Larry King Live' tonight
Joe Torre will be on 'Larry King Live' tonight. The show will be on at 9:00PM ET on CCN. This will be the first chance Torre gets to explain himself, and tell the public why he chose to write the book. I'm sure Larry has come up with a lot of great questions…he always does. Torre always emphasized the idea that whatever happens in the clubhouse should stay in the clubhouse...

From Jayson Stark:After trying to push Xavier Nady as the outfielder they'd most prefer to trade, the Yankees are telling teams they're softening to the idea of dealing Nick Swisher.
