Yankees Avoid Arbitration, Sign Wang to 1-Year Deal

From Ed Price: The Yankees and Chien-Ming Wang went to arbitration before last season, but they avoided the process Monday by agreeing to a one-year, $5 million contract for 2009. Wang, 28, made $4 million in 2008 when a arbitrator picked that figure over Wang's request for $4.6 million.
