Joba
"Joba will prepare as a starter during spring training, but will start the season in the bullpen barring injuries to the current five-man rotation. In the month of June, the plans calls for a demotion to the minors for Chamberlain, where the 22-year-old would stretch himself out over the course of 3-4 weeks in preparation for a role in the major league rotation during the season's second half."

  • What The F…………
Come on are you for real. Oh come on, who thought of this?
If you want to limit his innings and the eventual goal is to develop him as a starter why not put him in the no. 5 hole. That way you can limit his innings, drop him from the rotation when deemed necessary and from the get go he is a "STARTER". In April and May he will not be needed every 5th day so you move him into the role as a starter gradually. By September and playoff time he is ready to go every 4ht day if necessary. Please get this to Hank.
Tell him I'm available for advice as deemed necessary. Jeez with my scheme he can always go to the pen foe a week or so. Send him to the "what" in June?

  • This is soooo stupid!!! This kid is the real thing. What do you think Bob Gibson would have said if they were thinking of doing this with him. Jeez. This is a no brainer. Put Joba in the 5 hole. In April and May he will not be needed every 5th day. He can miss starts and throw an inning or two in the Pen. He would be a "STARTER " from the get go and work gradually into the role. By September and then the playoffs he would be ready for a couple of weeks going every 4th day. He would be the no. 1 then.
OK send him "where" at midseason. Oh my God. Get this message to Hank.
  • Yankees struggle at the beginning of every season any way. Kinda smart if you ask me.

Clemens Apparently Mis-Remembers The Truth

If he had come right out after the Mitchell Report was released and pulled the Andy Pettitte or Rodney Harrison reasoning for using PED's, many fans would have been dissappointed, but I believe most would have forgiven him and moved on. Joba Chamberlain Is A Set Up Man! Stop Drafting Him In Your Fantasy Leagues!

Joba Chamberlain was a lights out set-up guy in 2007. And should be again in 2008. The Yankees plan on using him there until they can ease him into the starting rotation and keep his innings pitched low. A set-up guy shouldn't be drafted in the middle rounds of any fantasy league. Stop doing it!!!
