Blue Jays Rant:
With the bullpen mostly depleted from last night’s ball game, the Blue Jays were surely looking forward to having Ricky Romero, a guy who could be expected to go fairly deep into the ball game, on the mound taking on John Danks and the White Sox. As it turns out, we probably could have sent Jo-Jo Reyes out on the mound on a bad day for 9 innings, and probably still come away with the victory.
The Jays broke out the bats early and often today, and in no uncertain terms crushed John Danks and the White Sox with a convincing 13-4 win to take the series 3-1. You knew the day was going to go right for the Blue Jays when Aaron Hill finally crushed his 1st line-drive home run – and for a grand slam, no less – but when Edwin Encarnacion follows that with a season 1st home run of his own? “Going right” would be an understatement.
