In last night’s 9-3 loss to the Marlins, Chris Capuano allowed six runs and eight hits in four innings.
He threw 75 pitches, 47 of which were strikes.
After the game, Capuano spoke with reporters and basically said:
He couldn’t settle into any sort of rhythm and his ball was flat all night.
Facing the same team multiple times in a short period of times can work both ways, but he knows he isn’t tricking any of the Marlins right now.
He felt physically fine, his problem is “a feel thing” right now.
There really isn’t much to say about Capuano’s outing – he was centering most of his pitches, and like he said they didn’t have much life or movement, and he got shelled.
I am curious if his 122 pitch outing against the Braves, in which he went the distance while striking out 13, has taken a toll on Capuano in his two last starts. He is typically a guy who throws 100 pitches and begins to labor at around the 70 pitch mark, and that is...
