I remember distinctly when the Mets traded a couple relievers, one with injury concerns and the other suddenly found extra MPH on his fastball in his late 20's, the diamond in the rough of the deal was suppose to be Adam Bostick.The Mets acquired two lefties and gave up two righties that they had concerns about, but while the righties went on to contribute for Marlins neither lefty produced for the Mets. The Mets hoped Jason Vargas would break into the bottom of the rotation in 2007, but after two injury plagued, failed seasons, his best production was that he had enough value to be moved in the J.J. Putz trade. Bostick ended up to be an even bigger disappointment, coming to the Mets as a 24 y/o left hander who projected to be a starter but had control issues, the expectations were high.
