Even with Petco’s fences coming in, I’m really liking what this middle-aged journeyman pitcher… *checking notes*  Me to myself, “I don’t think this is the Adam Eaton, 4+ ERA pitcher.”  Myself to me, “Jesus, then don’t write about the pitcher, or people will think you have no idea what you’re talking about.”  Me to myself, “Chill, Myself!  I know what to write and what not to– Um…Uh…”  So, Adam Eaton is a Diamondbacks prospect, not the other Adam Eaton that once pitched for the Padres.  That is plenty obvious.  I mean, these are rookie outlook posts for 2013 fantasy baseball after all, right?  *awkward laughing*  Right, so here’s what I said about Adam Eaton at the end of last year, “ To give you the brief summary up front about Eaton:  Imagine Pedroia in the outfield with more speed and less power.  He’s got spark plug written all over him (in invisible ink, so not to creep anyone out).  At five foot-eight soaking wet, he’s not the biggest of players.  (“S

Sources: D-backs trying to deal Upton

Once again, the Arizona Diamondbacks are trying to trade right fielder Justin Upton. Maybe the third time will be a charm. The Diamondbacks discussed moving Upton at the 2010 general managers' meetings and also before the July 31 non-waiver deadline last season. Ken Kendrick, the team's managing general partner, told a Phoenix radio station in October that Upton was "...

Sources: 80-20 chance of Upton trade

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. -- Once again, the Arizona Diamondbacks are trying to trade right fielder Justin Upton. Maybe the third time will be a charm. The Diamondbacks discussed moving Upton at the 2010 general managers' meetings and also before the July 31 non-waiver deadline last season. Ken Kendrick, the team's managing general partner, told a Phoenix radio station in October...

Justin Upton is going to be traded, and it makes no sense

The Arizona Diamondbacks seem to be locked in to trading Justin Upton this winter. Hell, Upton might even be dealt by Thanksgiving at the rate rumors are heating up around him. This is absolutely infuriating to me as a baseball fan. Upton is 25-years old, a former top overall pick in the MLB Draft, and is signed through the next three seasons, making a total of roughly $39 million...

Justin Upton Remains One of Most Enigmatic Players in Baseball, Represents Risky Trade Proposition

Justin Upton was supposed to be Mike Trout. Taken No. 1 overall in the 2005 amateur draft, Upton was promoted to the big leagues just over two years later by August 2007 at the age of 19, and the world was expected — to a degree rightfully so. While Upton was still a teenager upon arriving in The Show, he didn’t only have all the skills to be successful at that age, but he had...

The Justin Upton Rumors Are Back

During the summer, there were rumors that the Arizona Diamondbacks were shopping Justin Upton. The Pittsburgh Pirates were one of the teams linked to Upton, although nothing came of the rumors and Arizona kept their young outfielder. In what seems to be an off-season tradition, the rumors that the Diamondbacks are shopping Upton have started again. Once again, the Pirates are involved...

Upton For Andrus: Who Wins?

Stop me if you’ve heard this before; the Diamondbacks are listening to offers for Justin Upton again. These aren’t even just courtesy phone calls to check in on his availability, or speculation from other teams about his availability – Kevin Towers flat out confirmed that he’s in trade negotiations with other teams about his star right fielder. “I’m open-minded and...

Upton Brothers: Phenoms, Disappointments, Now What?

Bottom of the second inning, and as Upton walked toward the plate, he might have noticed that no one was referring to him as the future anymore… It wasn’t much of a crowd, and therefore it wasn’t much of a heckle, but what it lacked in long and loud, it made up for in short and sweet. This was the sound of a crowd protesting spoiled brats and mouthy prospects and unpaid dues...

MLB Rumors: Will Arizona Diamondbacks Trade Justin Upton To Texas Rangers For Elvis Andrus?

Could the Arizona Diamondbacks finally trade outfielder Justin Upton this offseason? They have talked about it for years now. In an offseason that could feature equally as many blockbuster trades as free agent signings, Upton could be one of many players who finds a new home for the 2013 MLB season. Another player whose name is being mentioned a lot as of late is Texas Rangers shortstop...

Sherman: Yanks not in on Justin Upton

From Joel Sherman: The Yankees are so serious about dropping under that $189 million luxury tax threshold for 2014 that, according to a source briefed on their plans, they would not even do a two-year contract in the $20 million range with Torii Hunter, The Post has learned. Though Arizona’s Justin Upton has become available at the GM Meetings, a person involved in discussions...

Justin Upton Rumors: Diamondbacks Trying to Trade OF

The Arizona Diamondbacks are once again attempting to trade outfielder Justin Upton, and the chances of the talented slugger playing elsewhere next season are “80-20,” according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Major-league sources, however, say the team is again engaged in active discussions about Upton, and one estimates the chances of him playing elsewhere next...

Upton Brothers To Reunite?

One of the most intriguing things in sports is watching siblings play. It’s always great to see them play against each other (Eli vs. Peyton), but this offseason the Upton brothers actually have a chance of playing on the same team.  Wouldn’t it be great to watch them together, side by side? I think their productivity could rise to a new horizon. B.J. and Justin both need a...
