getty images Adam Jones says a fan threw a banana at him at AT&T park on Sunday. While there has been no video of the incident to hit the web yet…. it is really hard to believe that Jones would have make the story up. After Sunday’s game the Baltimore Orioles outfielder posted the following tweet: I want to thank whatever slapdick threw that banana towards my direction in CF in the last inning. Way to show ur class u *******. — Adam Jones (@SimplyAJ10) August 11, 2013 Of course some people on twitter tried to defend the banana thrower, which led to Jones saying he may leave social media soon. Good chance this means I get off social media soon — Adam Jones (@SimplyAJ10) August 12, 2013   Jones would hardly be the first athlete to leave twitter due to fan behavior. Which of course continues to highlight the dangers and reasons some simply stay off of social media altogether. In Sunday’s game Jones hit a home run and drove in four as the Orioles beat the Giants 10-2.
